Cool science Projects and Cool Science Experiments

Outstanding Cool Science Fair Projects and Experiments

Cool science projects are exciting and imaginative; they will hold your interest during the entire course of project development. Many of these cool science projects are sophisticated, yet easy to implement. The cool experiments are certain to enthrall you.

The most important component of a successful science project is one that is of interest to you. Your project has a high probability of success if it keeps you interested and motivated. Make sure that the project is non trivial and you will have a cool science project.

What would be a cool science project for one student may not be a cool science project for another. For example, a student who is interested in physics most likely may not think psychology projects or biology projects are cool science projects.

Presented below are a number of cool science projects and cool science experiments, one of which may suggest a topic for your project.

Behavior and Social Sciences
Determine the effects of confidence levels on mathematics test scores.
Experiment: Measure the confidence level of a group of students; administer the mathematics test and record the differences.

Medicine and Health / Zoology
Determine the relationship between caloric intake and the health of mice.
Experiment: Feed several groups of mice with food of various levels of calories; observe and record the differences.

Medicine and Health / Zoology
Determine the relationship of a sedentary life style and the health of mice.
Experiment: Confine one group of mice so movement is restricted; allow a second group to have freedom of movement; observe and record the differences.

Computer Science / Environmental Science
Develop computer software that will predict the effects of global warming.
Experiment: Knowing the recent rise in temperature and its effects, the software will extrapolate the effects of each degree rise in temperature.

Computer Science / Zoology
Develop a computer program to simulate the evolution of one or more artificial forms of life.
Experiment: Define the effect that various environmental factors will have on the artificial life and apply the random changes to the artificial life as it responds to changes in the environment.
Although it will be necessary to limit the environmental factors in this project to a relatively small number, these cool science experiments may provide valuable data about the evolutionary process.

Computer Science / Mathematics
Develop a computer program that will create various proofs of the Pythagorean theorem.
Experiment: The computer program will randomly generate various methods of developing the proof.
Developing computer programs that generate mathematical proofs are cool science projects in artificial intelligence.

Physics / Engineering
Build a low-cost plasma reactor.
Experiment: Obtain information on the operation of a plasma reactor; acquire parts from science, hardware and electrical supply stores; assemble and test.

Behavior and Social Sciences
Analyze the effects of aging on the ability to remember.
Experiment: Prepare cards containing a variable number of digits and letters; instruct respondents, who may range in age from 12 to 80, to try to recall the contents of the observed cards; record the results.

Botany / Environmental Sciences / Biochemistry
Determine the best of several natural insecticides.
Experiment: Perform background research on the various types of natural insecticides; apply each natural insecticide to a variety of insects; observe and results.

Physics

Determine the relationship of temperature and electrical conductivity in a variety of conductors. Experiment:
With an ohmmeter, measure the resistance in a length of wet string at room temperature and after being frozen; compare the results. Repeat the experiment using dry ice and acetone. Also, do the experiment with some well known insulators, such as plastic and rubber.

Biology / Mathematics / Economics
Use linear Programming to determine the optimum acreage of corn, wheat and soy beans to be planted in order to maximize the total gross profit that American farmers would realize from growing these crops.
Experiment: Collect national economic and agricultural data and apply the data to linear programming software.
