Purpose of a Science Club
The purpose of a science club is to to develop your interest in science, to introduce you to a variety of scientific disciplines and to develop skills in fieldwork, research and project presentations. Members will provide help as you develop your project and wil be an audience when you practice making oral presentation of your science project. Peer review is extremely useful.
Science Club Activities
Some of the activities that you may wish to pursue in a sciience club are listed below.
- Discuss science projects in general
- Discuss ideas and topics for science projects
- Visit science museums
- Discuss problems that members are experiencing with their science projects
- Make presentations of your science project to the members of the science club
Note: Being a member of a science club should not preclude you from discussing your project with your parents or teacher.
Establishing a Science Club
After discussing starting a science club with friends and others who are interested in science, declare the existence of your science club. Locate a meeting place and ask the members to decide how often that they want to meet. Then determine a name for your science club.
